LANKA VISION  is a satellite television platform providing the cultural, entertainment and  information needs of the expatriates Sri Lankans living in Australia and New Zealand.  Lanka Vision satellite broadcasting service was founded by a independent group of Sri Lankan expatriates living in Australia, committed to leading the field in the local communication industry by delivering the most comprehensive, speedy and responsive service to its target audience.  Lanka Vision is backed by  UBI World TV , a stable and reputed satellite TV distribution company in Australia, as well as established, licensed broadcast and telecommunication operators in Sri Lanka. Australian operation is coordinated by  SL Media Pty Ltd and Yasiru Multimedia Pty Ltd, a leafing entertainment and event management company based in Sydney, Australia.

From August 2009  Lanka Vision brings Sri Lankan viewers in Australia and New Zealand to a whole new world of entertainment and infotainment by signing up with the premium Sri Lankan TV Channel “DERANA”, taking them beyond conventional Australian TV.  Australian and New Zeland  Sri Lankan population will present some of the most widely viewed, best loved entertainment and educational programs of DERANA  in Sri Lanka using state-of-the-art technology to provide crystal clear pictures and high fidelity audio. Lanka Vision services are transmitted via SCTV from its all digital broadcast facility in Sydney using UBI World TV platform on the Optus D2 satellite. Currently there are over 120,000 dishes being serviced by the Optus  satellite, with hundreds more being installed weekly.

Since November 2009 we are telecasting TV DERANA  daily  from 5pm 11pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time) .   Australian and New Zealand viewers can watch Sri Lanka’s premium TV channel “DERANA”   7 days a week.    The transmission may  be delayed up to 18 hours   to match the prime time viewing in Australian Eastern Standard Time Zone.

We are planning to extend this to 24hrs 7 days subscription based service from   late 2010 and will also include  more entertainment  channels and  24 hrs “Derana FM “Radio Channel.
